Welcome to ANEW!

Working for yourself, there is nowhere to hide. You must learn to be increasingly adaptable, take risks, learn new skills, new topics, go back to basics, and all the while maintaining a sense of self and wellbeing.

The best part though, is the free rein to work on any project or cause, whenever, wherever and with whoever you like! To reinvent, to challenge the status quo, to think ANEW.

This societal shift post-covid needed to happen. Looking back, I have absolutely no idea how I did it, commuting for two hours a day (and spending an obscene amount of money on coffee). It isn't sustainable, and it's no surprise that the flexible working week is here to stay.

It also isn't sustainable to purchase new office furniture every time your company grows or retracts. There needs to be a rethink, a conversation. That's why my view is always honest. I have no boss telling me to hit my targets, or to maximise profit on a project. Money isn't what motivates me. A happy client (and a happy Planet) is.

As the world adapts and changes to the new normal, it's been interesting to see what that has meant for a regional city like Birmingham. In stark contrast to London, where waste is, dare I say it, unavoidable. I have relished in the conscientious attitude of my clients, reusing products and thinking long and hard about their requirements.

It is my intention that this blog will serve as a showcase of ANEW's experiences, projects and adventures! I'd love to hear from my wonderful friends, colleagues and industry contacts. To provide me with valuable feedback so I can continue to grow a business that aspires to be different from the rest.
